What are the Family Resiliency Programs?
Cayuga Home for Children's Family Resiliency Programs are dedicated to helping families remain together. Our goal is to form a strong partnership with families, and work within the context of a family's cultural and social values to help family members solve conflicts and build relationships. We are dedicated to building on a family's strengths, and using those strengths to overcome whatever difficulties the families might be experiencing. Whether our services take place in your home or in ours, Cayuga Home for Children is here to support you. Our Resiliency Programs have a proven track record of keeping families intact and improving the way they function at home and in the community. Building on Strengths Our programs are founded on a set of basic assumptions about individuals and families that guide us in our work:
Cayuga County Intensive Family Preservation: Offers immediate and short-term (4–6 weeks) preventive services to families with a child at imminent risk of out-of-home placement. We provide support up to 10 hours/week for up to 2–3 hours at a time. Family/School Partnership: Seeks to build stronger relationships within families as well as between families and the school systems in which their children are involved. This program lasts 12–52 weeks, with meetings once per week or more. Seneca County Single Point of Accountability (SPOA): Part of a state-wide initiative designed to facilitate the appropriate use of various counties' family and child services – the way "into the system." Home-based Intensive Family Intervention (HIFI): Offers immediate and short-term (10 weeks, with multiple contacts/week) preventive services to families with a child at imminent risk of out-of-home placement. Coordinated Children's Services Initiative (CCSI): Brings families and service providers in the community together to create a coordinated service plan to support families in staying together and maintaining their children in the community. Supportive Case Management: For families with a child with a serious emotional disorder, provides on-going advocacy, service coordination, skill teaching, and support. Preventive and Crisis Respite: Provides overnight respite for children, for up to five days, for families either experiencing crisis or needing a planned break. |
